Morris Men from Bristol entertained the villagers in Watchet, Crowcombe and Nether Stowey today. Tomorrow, Sunday 30th April, they are appearing at Dunster at about 11:30am, and Blue Anchor at about 1:30pm.
They have been appearing in the Quantocks whilst on their annual camp, this year at Warren Bay, Watchet. On Monday May 1st they must be back in Bristol in order to dance in the May Day Dawn! The Morris Men were joined by Wives and girlfriends, fed-up with being on the sidelines, dance in their own group known as The Bristol Blues. (Female Morris Men - is that allowed?)
The Bristol Morris Men were formed in 1951 although, they tell us, none of the existing members were founders of the group!
